Activists are urging the city of Memphis to take down the Confederate monuments in Memphis.

Here’s a copy of the letter they are delivering to Mayor Jim Strickland:

‘As we saw in Charlottesville this past weekend, white supremacy is at an apex and must be
halted nationally and here at home. While we work tirelessly to remove racist structures in our
policy and reconnect youth of color to our workforce and community, we must also remove
these statues now…’
